The rule

Chapter III of the Constitution protects your fundamental rights against action by the State and its officers.

What is wrong

What happens next

You file a petition in the Supreme Court. The Court first decides whether to grant leave to proceed.

The punishment

If a violation is proved, the Court can order remedies such as compensation, sometimes paid by officers from their own money.
